Week 2 Status Report - Works In Progress
All the projects.
Player #4
Yarn: Lana Grossa Milenweit Color: Sachin Pattern: Melanie's Twist |
This is NOT a difficult pattern, but you wouldn't know it by my knitting. I have made mistake after mistake after mistake, resulting in a lot of frogging back and making the yarn a little worn. But, I shall persist because this is usually one of my favorite patterns of all time.
Player #5
Yarn: Malabrigo Rios Color: Matisse Blue Pattern: Nova Scarf |
Lookie, lookie ....it's NOT socks. A friend had knit this riff on the ever-popular Sophie Scarf and I knew right away that I had to make one too. I'm guessing that on down the road there will be more of these in my wooly wardrobe. It is very fun to knit. Easy enough that you can watch football and interesting enough that you don't want to poke your brain out half way through. That's a win/win in my book.
P.S. Everything good that they say about Malabrigo Rios is true. Wow! Super rich tonal color and soft as a baby kitten.
Your Giroux fix for week #2
20°F, brisk wind, snow ---- yep, I'm good right here in the big bed! |
Working on his side-eye game |
My framed cross stitch came with a complimentary cat tent. |
It is Giroux approved. He's not much of a "box" cat. He is all about the paper. |
Great mix of colours for your knitting, love the blue of the scarf. What is it with cats and paper and boxes, lol Giroux is such a handsome boy 😍
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects. Rios is a lovely yarn. The blue you've chosen is gorgeous - so saturated with color. A scarf in Rios ought to move right along unless the RNG skips that number too many times.
ReplyDeleteRios is heavenly to knit! You found a gorgeous sapphire color.
ReplyDeleteI started a new pair of socks today at my book club. I had every intention of doing the Melanie pattern but the yarn is striped and it just didn't look right so I diverted to plain vanilla. It looks better with the yarn. I adore that Matisse blue/purple color. It's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAnd Giroux. I just can't get enough of that sweet face. You are a lucky lady that he chose you to make his Mom. He seems to really like his new "house". Sweet boy.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
Giroux glamour shots! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yarn and works in progress. And how lovely the Embers socks are knitting up. Do they look better to you now?
That Rios -- such a gorgeous color, and I know how amazing it feels! That's going to be a scarf I'll bet you'll wear all the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty scarf! I'll be curious to see the finished project. I love Giroux's fort - and when he is finished with it being used that way, he can attack it on the floor!
ReplyDeleteI like all the colours of the yarns you are using.
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs of Giroux.
All the best Jan
how exciting there is a non-sock in the mix!! I love when you showcase G though, he is the sweetest ever!!
ReplyDeleteThose colors are beautiful.
