Introducing Player #3
Player 3 Yarn: The Fiber Seed 'Sprout' Colorway: Embers |
This sock was supposed to be for me. I had the "perfect" pattern picked out. I cast it on and got almost through the ribbing and.............I really, REALLY did not like the pooling effect I was getting. It still might have looked good in the pattern, but it wasn't what I was going for. The needle size and the yarn weight were not working for me.
So, they will be for Steve. I use a slightly larger needle (2.5mm) for his socks in this brand of yarn. I like this much better and Steve is happy to get getting another pair of socks.
The Fiber Seed 'Sprout' is on the heavier side of fingering and definitely will make a warm pair of socks for him when he is working outside. "Embers" kind of works well for him too considering what he does.
Player 1 --- is through the second repeat
Player 2 --- is also through the second repeat, but is a bit longer since the repeat is more rows.
Player 3 --- is eight rows into the ribbing
Player 4 --- the yarn is picked out and so is the pattern, but RNG has not said I can start something new (yet).
Oooh, the sapphire color is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like all the colours here.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Those are some great colors. Embers is perfect for Steve! How cool is that? This is such a fun game that you're playing.

I always love watching your sock WIPs "play" ... so many colors and patterns and I'm in awe of how you keep them all straight!
ReplyDeleteI like all the colors. Your game is fun but your rules are the best.
ReplyDeleteThis sock game is so much fun to watch. And Embers for your husband sounds as if it was meant to be a pair of socks for him. Knit on with RNG!
ReplyDeleteDee, it’s Lisa. The above comment is mine. Evidently I’m not logged in to google. I will try again.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw that color and the name, I knew it was going to be for Steve! It seems perfectly suited to him and his profession.
ReplyDeleteLove how these are all progressing!
These socks all look terrific. I love how you're choosing to knit them--when you want to. I think Embers will surprise you after all.
