I Do What I Wanna!
I was scrolling through the Insta this morning,
as one does when one doesn't quite want to crawl out from under the covers.
A line was written..........
"I wonder how much I can finish before New Year's Day?"
It got me thinking.
That's not how I want to stitch/knit/read/live anymore.
Oh my!
I guess I'm turning into a "process person"
(rather than a project person).
Neither is better than the other .... maybe I just have surprised myself.
Some people pick One Little Word for their new year.
I'm going with this....
Yeah .....................that works for me.
See you right back here in 2025!*
*Unless I finish the sock I am working on. It might make it to the finish line before then .........if I wanna.
That's kinda my mantra - knit for the pleasure of it. Most of my knitting is done in the evenings. Just to keep my hands busy, but give my brain a break
ReplyDeleteI pretty much do that unless Piper makes a request. Retirement is great, we have a lot more flexibility to do what we wanna, when we wanna. Enjoy your knitting. Would you believe that I have absolutely NOTHING on the hook or needles today? I finished the baby blanket last night and my last socks last week. I'm enjoying the in between of decision making right now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
It's the last weekend of 2024 ... enjoy doing what you want to do!
ReplyDeleteEarly good wishes for 2025.
All the best Jan
Hear hear! Time is such an arbitrary construct that whether you finish something on December 31 or January 1 really doesn't matter. And life's too short to stress yourself out about deadlines. (That said, finishing a new pair of socks for yourself is always a good things, so finish those up if you wanna! And happy new year!)
ReplyDeleteI used to try and get as many things as I could finished off before the end of the year, I've come to realise that it doesn't really matter. To enjoy what you are working on is better than rushing to finish many things. Hope you enjoy these last few days of 2024 doing what you want to do :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a process crafter, I'm slow at what I do but I enjoy it and that's what really matters. Wishing you a happy New Year and all the very best for 2025.
ReplyDeleteOh, good for you! Knitting and stitching should be a pleasure or a therapy for you, not a chore or a job. Making it a reward is so much more satisfying. Here's to you Doing For You in 2025.
